Casela is the island’s largest nature and adventure park, set in the dry hills of the west coast near Flic en Flac. It combines wildlife, safari-style drives and thrilling activities, which makes it one of the best full-day outings for families and groups.
What you can do
- Safari drives: see zebras, giraffes and antelope roaming wide enclosures.
- Animal encounters: meet lemurs, tortoises and other animals in the park.
- Ziplines and adventure: fly over the valleys on zipline courses and try other activities.
- Quad and off-road: options for guided rides on the estate.
Activities and animal experiences change, so check the current list and age limits before you book.

The zones of Casela
- African Safari: wide enclosures with giraffes, zebras, rhinos, antelope and ostriches, visited by safari truck, Eco Rider or private jeep.
- Predator Kingdom: lions, tigers, cheetahs and caracals, with guided encounters, walks and a drive thru.
- Thrill Mountain: ziplines, the Nepalese bridge and the Tulawaka toboggan.
- Family areas: the petting farm, the Pangia kids’ area, pony rides and the bird aviary.
Choosing the right experiences
Your park ticket gives access to the walking areas, but many of the best experiences are paid add-ons with age and height limits. Families with young children usually enjoy the petting farm, the giraffe experience and the safari truck. Teenagers and adults often choose the Eco Rider, the Tulawaka toboggan or a lion encounter. Encounters with big cats are limited to older guests (usually 15 and over) and must be booked in advance.
Planning your day
- Arrive at opening time to avoid the heat and book your encounter slots for the morning.
- Do the safari early, when the animals are most active.
- Have lunch at one of the restaurants in the park.
- Spend the afternoon in the family areas or on the toboggan.
